Eva

Hi, my name is
Eva!

And recipesbyeva is my little corner of the internet!

I launched recipesbyeva in 2016 while I was still working as a graphic designer at a small marketing agency in Asheville, NC. A few months after my first child arrived, I started scribbling quick dinner ideas on napkins during late‑night feedings. Those notes turned into a simple WordPress blog, and I posted my first recipe—an easy one‑pot chicken and rice—in July 2016. What began as a way to keep my family fed quickly quickly grew into something much bigger.

By the end of 2020 the site was pulling in about 25 000 unique visitors a month, and in March 2025 it crossed 120 000 monthly pageviews with more than 2 000 published recipes. I’ve been fortunate enough to see recipesbyeva featured on the Food Network’s “Home Cooking” segment in 2022, and we now host a weekly newsletter that reaches over 15 000 subscribers. The community has turned into a real conversation—I get dozens of emails each week from readers who tried my sourdough starter or swapped their favorite spice blends.

I live in Asheville with my husband, Mark, and our two kids, Lily (7) and Noah (4). When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, listening to classic jazz on a rainy afternoon, or experimenting with a new fermentation project. My favorite things are fresh herbs from the local farmers’ market, a well‑worn cast‑iron skillet, and the smell of fresh coffee before sunrise. Thanks for stopping by—let’s cook something delicious together!
